Phoebe did her Level 3 Travel and Tourism Extended Diploma at South and City College Birmingham.
She said “I would describe the college as a new chapter in life where people discover themselves and what they want to be. College helped me discover that I wanted to work in the tourism industry and become a holiday representative.”
“My favourite thing about college was the trips and the experiences we were offered. For example, I got the opportunity to go to Croatia where we dined with the captain of a ship, something I never thought I would do.”
“I was able to achieve as best as I possibly could with the help of my tutors on my course. They gave us regular 1-1’s to check our progress and see if we needed any extra support.”
“I loved my course because it meant I could see parts of the world I never thought I would. If any of the students felt like there was a place that could benefit us in our assignments, our tutors would listen to our ideas and do their best to try and make those trips happen. The tutors also treated us like young adults and not school children which was helped me to to become more mature.”
“My best memory of college was our first residential to Butlins Minehead. It is my fondest memory because I’d never really been away from home for that length of time. I had such a great week with my college friends!”
